Is a problem of how to go on.
In the jetbridge at Galeão
a termite tunnel of rainbows.
The business of all the energies
is ecumenical if not Catholic
opens its arms Christlike
to the multitudes. This Christ
of the light switch whose arms
are a bosom not a challenge
to the oil platform, the LNG tanker,
the solar panels prisming the wilderness,
the technicolor pinwheels
coptered by the wind. This is not the Christ
who rears rigid over the scattered stalks
& aphids of the city like an assistant principal
nor merely the one counterfeited in the name of
primitive accumulation but He
who opens up for us the last tabernacles of the earth
lets us imbibe of its old sundered bodies’ tuile and wine.
