You have to think
in terms of daily use,
discover what is good
about wings and tips.
Look at that bowl
of grommets, how function
is implied. We’re not trying
for pretty. Sometimes
things get messy,
sometimes you have
to stretch leather, patch
with scraps slightly off-
color, reheel for a season
further afield. The budget
doesn’t always fit the taste.
You have to shine, make do,
accept repairs necessary
to longevity - not just for looks,
comfort is key. When it comes
to design, think keeping, think kept.
